Elomi Anushka review

Elomi never let me down when it comes to stunning bras. As I’ve posted previously about the Bijou Flirt here, Elomi consistently create such stunning designs.

I’m now very fortunate to own the Anushka in both the pink (Romance) and teal (Luxury ). When you find that one bra that you keep reaching for time and time again, it’s only right to get it in each colour way!
This half cup bra is perfect for my breast shape. I carry a lot of my tissue at the bottom and not at the top (thanks breastfeeding!) and find that half cup or balcony bras really give me that rounded shape that I like.

I’m fortunate to have been professionally measured so I can confidently order the right size for me at Elomi, this particular style that I’m wearing is a 38G and find the banding just right. However, due to changes in hormones, the cups are occasionally too small but that’s to be expected.

With a choice of either a blush pink or green/blue base with a stunning lace overlay, I just adore that ever so feminine, boudoir look. The Anushka is available in a D-H cup with matching briefs.

Sugar Candy Bra review

Not so long ago I was sent a beautiful new bra to review. Unlike my other bra reviews, this one was a little different.
The new range of Sugar Candy bras, by maternity company Cake Lingerie, are completely padding free, wire free and seamless, yet still offer incredible support to large cup sizes.
Meaning they are also suitable to sleep in.

The Sugar Candy bra is nothing short of an engineered masterpiece. When I was initially offered an unwired, unpadded bra, my first thought was ‘my boobs are saggy enough!’ After 3 kids and 8 months of breastfeeding, my bald heads need all the boosting and padding to make them look half decent. But honestly, once this bra was on, I was pleasantly surprised.
The bra itself is made from a double layer of ultra soft micro yarn, which gives it the level of comfort but with each layer, is constructed of different patterns and density to add to the bras stability. The inside of the bra has a unique structure of material which mimics the shape of an underwire, almost creating a hammock to lift away the breast from the body. I absolutely love this feature! Side panels also stop the tissue from migrating round, avoiding that dreaded mono boob shelf. The back has an impressive 5 hook and eye fastenings, on a 6 row back but as someone who closes their bras from behind, I found this pretty tricky to master alone.

Another thing that really impressed me was that this bra is designed for large busts only. Take a look at their handy size guide;

It’s so refreshing to see a core range only focusing on larger sizes.

Now, the Sugar Candy bra is nothing sexy to look at, it’s pure goal is to give a clean, simple look without the fuss of added extras. But I did like the ribbed underband with its ‘Cake’ slogan on it, giving an almost sports bra feel. And although the straps were soft, they did seem to take an awful lot of the weight during the day but not something I was aware of when in bed. So I would say this this is the ultimate bra for lounging around in when you still need the support.

Elomi Bijou Flirt

Once again Elomi have killed it with this stunning Bijou Flirt set. With the thin strap detail that cradles my curves and keyholes around my navel, it definitely lives up to its name!

I’m wearing a size 38GG and it’s a perfect fit. The briefs are generous in size but maybe a little low in the waist to what I’m used to but given the detailing, I’m happy to overlook that. You can find Bijou Flirt here  x

Curvy Kate Kitty Babydoll

This Christmas I was kindly sent a giftcard to spend from the lovely guys at Evans. Not really needing any more clothes, I decided I'd treat myself to some new underwear. That's when I spotted the beautiful babydoll by Curvy Kate.

Now, I've been fully aware of the beauties that Curvy Kate bring out every season and I even had my first proper bra fitting with them a few years back. But for some reason, I had held off buying anything until now. How could I resist this? With its deep red hue, flowy fabric and longline deep plunge bra, it was just calling my name!

I ordered this in a 38F and it fits perfectly. No pinching, gaping or over spill. And gave me a va va voom cleavage like nothing else I own. I don't think I'll be a stranger to Curvy Kate any longer. You can find the link to this item

Juliet by Playful Promises

It's not often you come across a new (to me) brand and your jaw hits the floor as every piece of lingerie is simply stunning. That's what happened when I laid eyes on the curve range by Playful Promises. Clearly I am not alone as the range is flying off the shelves! The collection features seductive little touches like peephole cut outs and harness style straps. They almost touch upon that flirty/dirty look and I bloody love it! Cup sizes range from a generous 38B-G 40-42 C-G and up to a dress size 24.
Now as you may know from my previous posts, I've been struggling to find a decent bra fit since losing some weight. I seem to be flitting between sizes and as all brands vary, this has become quite the challenge when ordering online. I decided to go for a 38 E and it was a dream fit!!

This half cup bra (Juliet) has side mesh panels that sit in the perfect spot to really give my bust a lift not just up but out too. Once I put it on, I gave a little squeal! I just love the harness choker that comes separately. This is fully adjustable too.

The briefs were sheer, high waisted and feature a peephole style cut out at the back but this was a little wasted on me as they were far too large. I did order a 20 when I should of ordered a 16. Once I wore the matching girdle over the top, it really wasn't an issue. I still look hot!

It took until a couple of years ago to realise that I could be sexy in underwear. The thought of getting my clothes off was something I had always dread. I think with a bit more self confidence and brands realising there was a big gap in the market for sexy yet classy lingerie has helped me a lot. Be sure to look at the full collection at Playful Promises here.. X

Dotty about Danielle by Elomi

It's that time again when I whip off my clothes and reveal a stunning new set of undies. This time it's all courtesy of the wonderful folk at Elomi.
I've been admiring this plus size lingerie brand for quite some time now but hadn't yet taken the plunge. But now I have my very first set and it's gorgeous!

I opted for Danielle, with its cute, colourful dot design. It's deep plunge shape is perfect for those low cut items without losing any support.

Although this particular bra is slightly too big in the cup for me, you really couldn't tell unless you knew what to look for. The stretch lace top fits close to my skin without any gaping, there is no sign of side rolls or side boob, the central gore sits flat and comfortably against my chest bone. I think one cup smaller and this bra would be spot on for my shape. As it is, it had a seperating effect and wanted my twins to become to distant relatives!

Elomi range from sizes 34-48 B to K cup in a range of designs and cuts. You can find them here. x

Looking Purr-fect in Sculptresse Kitty

Recently the wonderful folks from Panache were kind enough to gift me a set of lingerie from their Sculptresse range and I jumped at the chance to review this beautiful set, Kitty.

In striking red, with a star jacquard fabric and leopard print bow, I knew this set had my name all over it.
The full cup bra fitted like a dream after a good scoop and jiggle.

The middle of the bra sat flush against my chest bone and the lower band was not overly tight against my ribs.

There was no bulging side boob. Being a full cup bra, I always worry that I'll get the dreaded quad boob if the top of the cup doesn't sit in the right spot but I didn't have that issue with this one. It's so nice when you finally get measured and bras fit how they were intended too. If there's something about your current bra that isn't quite right, chances are, it's not the right size. It's always good to get fitted once a year. Last year I was in a poorly fitted bra, thinking I was a 40DD. After getting measured, I was in fact a 38GG and I haven't had a bad bra since!
The Sculptresse range fit up to a HH cup with a variety of styles, colours and fit.
Lastly, what the icing on the cake was that the full briefs were actually full. I love a high waisted brief and these were spot on! X

Sculptresse Misty by Panache

With gloomy weather and still feeling the pinch from Christmas, I was delighted to receive new undies through the post from the wonderful guys at Panache.

The beautiful Sculptresse Misty It has super soft cups in a lace and denim print fabric. I personally love the hot pink bow detail to really give it a fresh, Spring feel. And of course I had to colour match my lipstick!
I'm used to a padded or moulded bra and I often used to skip past the soft cup variety but after trying out the Sculptresse range, I've been converted. Some clothes just look better without the bulk.

Like with most of the matching briefs in the Sculptresse range, they are a superb fit and come up nice and high on the waist.

Have you checked out the new Spring/Summer range yet? I'm in love with Flirtini  X

Thighs Of Fire? Not with Tortz!

If there's one thing I worry about when buying new skirts for summer, that's thigh rub. Now I won't go as far as calling it 'chub rub' as I know plenty of slimmer women who have endured the dreaded thighs of hell during the warmer months.
So when I came across Tortz., I wanted to try them out in a second.
Unlike anti chafe shorts, these are more like short tights, alas where the name Tortz comes to play. With lace hems and a nice high waist, these ticked all my requirement boxes.
I'm partial to quite a shortish skirt in the summer so I knew I didn't want something too long that would reach my knees and be shown to everyone at the slightest hint of a breeze. I also didn't want a thick material to bulk my clothes up or make me too hot. Tortz have the look and feel of a thin denier tights but are incredibly hard wearing. I won't lie, I tugged and pulled and picked but I still didn't manage to damage them!

With a non slip rubber backing to the lace, the Tortz stay firmly in place. I wore these to a blogger event one evening, where I knew I'd be hot and on my feet for a few hours. I didn't even notice I was wearing them, the were truly comfortable and very breathable.

I'm wearing the nude here but they also come in black or you can buy one of each in a pack of two.
Tortz are available in 3 sizes ranging from 8 to 22. I highly recommend this product and although a fairly new company, I do hope to see a larger range of sizes being added in the future.

Chi Chi by Sculptresse

They've done it again! Everytime I view the new ranges at Sculptresse by Panache, I fall in love with the prints. It's not just the prints and colours but the shapes, the fabric and the high waisted briefs. I used to dread my old bras breaking as I knew it meant having to go and buy a new one. More often than not, I'd end up just grabbing the nearest, cheapest one I could find, usually in a supermarket. But I soon started to notice that the bra didn't fit right. Or it would start to fall apart in some way.
Then i got measured and my bra buying nightmares were over. Okay so some stores are not always spot on with the fit, and don't forget, not all days are normal boob days!
As stated in my last Sculptresse  review, I've changed shape recently so I'm now on a new perfect size bra mission. I need to get remeasured but I've been too busy to find the time.
Sculptresse kindly sent me the Chi Chi and boy do I love it!! The fabric is superb quality on the top with a beautiful stretch lace to the top of the cups. The tropical print just screams summer! I ordered a size down but I still feel I need to try another size but unsure if it's the cup or the band.

             It's gorgeous, right?!

So in the pictures you'll notice that it fits well in the band. Everything sits nice and snug. It's not digging in to my shoulders or my ribs and back. But, it does nothing for the shape of my breasts. If anything, the bra separates them outwards which is telling me that it's the wrong size. They are being held just nicely but that's it. I'm not looking for a cleavage enhancer but it's nice to have a shape! Hopefully once I find my new cup size, I'll once again have my perfect bra. X

Such a Flirtini! With Sculptresse by Panache

If you read my last Sculptresse review, you might of remembered me saying how i had my eyes on the Flirtini set. With its hot pink colour and rainbow leopard print, it screamed Sam! I was fortunate enough to get sent the Flirtini set from my favourite babes at Panache Lingerie. I was over the moon!!

I've recently lost some weight and with that, my bra size has changed. Annoying! So I opted to size up in the band and down in the cup. It's so important to regularly get refitted for your bras as I've definitely changed shape and still haven't been for my new fitting. Tut tut.

As you can see, the central gore of the bra sits nicely against my chest. No digging, no gaping, no rubbing. Same with the straps and the band.

I carry the most of my breast tissue/fat in the lower half of my chest so I just love balconette bras for that little lift.  I need that extra oomph to make them look a more fuller at the top. Sometimes full cup bras gape on me at the top as I simply don't have the right shape to fill them. Luckily not a problem I encounter very often with the Sculptresse range.

Again, the briefs are high waisted. They sit against my navel which I prefer. Nothing worse than knickers that try to run away from your body throughout the day.
Have you checked out the Sculptresse range yet? There are such beautiful styles and colours to choose from and all run from a D to a H cup xx

A Teal Tease in Sculptresse Charisse

Today I feel like a total mermaid babe in this beautiful teal set, the Scultresse 'Charisse' by Panache.

With full cup coverage for great support and the most beautiful sequin print fabric, this set, like 'Kitty', fit amazingly!

Like in my previous reviews, it's such a great feeling when you've had a recent bra fitting and each bra fits as it should. Now, I'm totally the kinda girl that by 7 o'clock, loves nothing more than whipping off my bra and letting the girls have their down time, but it's equally refreshing to wear something that makes you forget you are wearing it. No awkward strap slips, no digging wires or rubbing. Just boobies doing their thing, sitting in a bra and looking good. Nice, right?!
I love how this set matched my hair too. Keeping my mermaid realness right down to the colour of my undies is quite an achievement! This beautiful set can be found here http://www.panache-lingerie.com/en/products/details/sculptresse/charisse/a/a

Holy Boobage! Ft Tutti Rouge

I recently got to try out the AMAZING Jessica bra from Tutti Rouge and my mind has been blown! This beautiful bra caught my eye at The Curve Fashion Festival and I couldn't wait to try it on and see if it lived up to the hype of creating the #illegaleavage.

Well if I didn't love the look of Jessica enough alone, I definitely wanted to high 5 her if she was an actual person.

The nude and black lace cups are soft and non moulded in a classic plunge design but what really sets this bra from the rest are its Tutti Boosting 'cookies'. Soft padded inserts that control the amount of cleavage you are after.
Day time wear with no boost, go without inserts.

A subtle lift? Use the unstuffed cookie. Full on, traffic stopping, va va voom? Go full whack and wear the stuffed cookie. I did and cannot recommend them enough.

Although I'm a GG cup, after 8 months of breastfeeding my last born, my boobs have become less full at the top and I had just about lost all hope of finding a bra to give me the look I was after.
The Jessica is available in sizes 28"-38" DD-HH and can be found along with the matching briefs and suspender belt.

Freya Deco Spotlight from Beau Dame

I was fortunate enough to be asked to review a piece of underwear from a great lingerie company called Beau Dame. Having recently said farewell to one of my favourite bras after it broke and died on me, a bra was definitely top of my list. Lusting after most of the Freya range, I chose the Deco Spotlight. A moulded plunge bra with smooth cups in a lovely rich shade with tiny polka dots, it was perfect. As was the fit.

(Apologies for major paleness, rolls, lumps and bumps-we all have them right? And teen room background)

It sits perfectly on my ribs, there's no overspill or gaping, the band is just right in tightness too. Even after being professionally measured, I still have trouble finding the right size/fit with different brands. I got lucky with this one. I was also gifted the knickers. Again, silky smooth, comfortable and fit. It's actually quite rare to see me in matching underwear!
Beau Dame stock some really lovely pieces in a variety of sizes. Whether you are looking for everyday wear or something a little more special. The Freya Deco Spotlight can be found here
