I’m incredibly fond of meat, always have been but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found the inevitable bloating feelings and sluggishness in my energy levels. With my daughter turning vegetarian, she urged I try and ditch the animal products and so I did!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was kindly invited to try the vegan menu at my local <a href="https://www.wagamama.com/" target="_blank">Wagamama</a> at Cabot Circus, Bristol, in exchange for a review. Would I miss my regular favourite of spicy beef ramen? Let’s see;</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We were greeted and promptly seated and ordered our drinks. I opted for a beautiful sparkling sake. Light and bubbly, it was the perfect way to liven up my taste buds in anticipation for my first course. We it’s to share a bowl of the chilli garlic salt edemame beans which were firm and perfectly cooked.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_2603_3b3d_9deb_62d9" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhyq4MYF_4uo2PjSdrSSTltUNXATb3DebvPJA-hVnCV5hJypSW_Yv7jQvYajZg4O89-CU6_h8kBY5wceolZIaFaGstplKvi3vIW-lqFNdz-w4iTLquM9uTr6eT6jLkywjpt91RF5clBwk/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
Next we tried the Yasai Gyoza. 5 steamed dumplings, filled with tasty vegetables with a dipping sauce. Delicate in flavour, they were my daughters favourite. To this we ordered the Mixed Mushroom and Pannonia aubergine Hirata steamed buns. Ok so these really hit my meat hankering spot. The mushrooms were incredible. Thick, firm and juicy, creating that perfect umami flavour. Added to the crunch of the crispy yet light panko crumb on the aubergine, these were deliciously filling.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_edfd_9c4c_7e82_d39d" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs_tN1M1KKZbVSE_lveVyHlYKAPKOfLIze1N0AvoV3kx7Hr8GkIPY-9-_gY1XFX8OAIefbWSiZjJPJrmvlV2AtVIe7V2uFrk-hji2jrX6-xIFG-rFNM_lz0EXkica1M2hzi06RjTVTa_A/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />

<img alt="" id="id_1173_910d_2179_8993" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoeaeqxnyVJbKfOMQFIzgy74NcefSYqrqu9rTKil68oR0_qoSAlKfB_cMyYmeXnGEJj_ZteBAEb5atUP8YBq0XA_656Yko4fvoTxWJxnqVsYpYGM20puehRT3fIje_sZIwDdEcDW03wsA/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Now we were ready for our mains. My daughter opting for her favourite of Vegatsu. A take on the popular Katsu dish, this was a crispy Panko crumbed seitan fillet, on a bed of rice and covered in an aromatic curry sauce served with a side salad.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_d9c4_df91_1ac2_95e1" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJqvyzBOUeS21noXxCtrRSLa33kbH5sFL3wO3nm_WKkDb7Mfkc8QuN4ymCz2XFvb6MkXyBDbwdbEkmY-SFC5cKzsO-MYoOArFnBq4DieiDcL6uVRobXs7fZB6IbMGNhAYYwELOvUniz_c/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
I went for something different than my usual choice of ramen and instead tried the Yasai Pad Thai. Rice noodles with bean sprouts, spring onions, tofu, leeks and chilli and topped with fried shallots, peanut, mint, coriander and lime. This dish was incredible, the lime was a wonderful contrast to the amai sauce and the peanuts gave it the added texture. I ate this dish so fast the the tofu was almost gone before I took the photos!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_7947_b447_c380_44a4" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi00nIxI1PrIXTkW6M5NF9IExcetmJkvfm_pCZz2CMcQcjyoBSaWaEt1cw5Q_pZ2HGVIPhtRJ0xxAz8WOlXNebtBYwuMl43V9fGbrP-6U4K0maM4XGUgKCWOi0kPPTxOn9lAeu2TcWJhqg/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
We were so full at this point that we almost laughed when we were offered the dessert menu. Never one to turn down sweet offerings, we shared bowls of each flavoured sorbets. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_3f2a_6c0e_e10c_3a41" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT_meFH9GzAtzj9ShU8sTtYT5yqb0hBKVCew6eQNArUVNiZoDDohhZprgycAaHDNX3Jv8Zzl1rHtvnzImX8rhwOGklVrxitwI4CAvdyw-2Bg98vd9m4I1G9V_PfjK1iHy4FyZ6x7FtYdc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
Lemon grass and lime with mint and pink guava and passion fruit. Both delicately flavoured and completely vegan, they were the perfect end to the meal. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Since January, I have significantly cut meat out of my every day diet and now only have it occasionally when I eat out. It’s not made a massive difference to my wellbeing but I’m far less bloated and the environmental impact is enough to want me to continue to become more plant based. </div>
<div>
Have you checked out the vegan menu at Wagamamas? Do you have a favourite dish or recipe you’d like to share? </div>

I KNEW I hated the thought of slipping so I have no idea why I thought ice skating would be any kind of fun for me. But we have to try these things for ourselves so we know for the future. Silly Sam! </div><div>Sure enough, it took me around 20 minutes to even consider setting foot on the rink, even though I was kitted out in skates and watching my 16 year old daughter, skating effortlessly around the ice albeit laughing at her petrified mother. </div><div>With only 10 minutes left of the session, that’s right, I had spent the entire time contemplating doing it that I wasted an entire session! So after 5 minutes of manoeuvring and dithering, I was finally on the ice. Resembling a scene from Bambi, I was wobbly legged and gripping on to the sides as I aimlessly tried to ‘skate’ around the edge. It’s safe to say that ice skating is definitely not for me!</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_e643_9e05_4fb0_be42" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii_BuPxx-tfORgQj9SgRfcQHzZct0mO7SqLla5gDKas3gPhYC3920edkLPW4T8C5695Sy_MD7CiSrbwsz5fd1LTcEtrUAckwUFdjtYwBiI0YkgZdl9xm4-Y8bVXa9T2YN4Wxy8w1PXmuc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><div style="text-align: center;">Picture purely to certify that I got on to the ice! </div><br>The rink itself was large and well covered, perfect for this wet December. With the addition of a Christmas tree and festive fairy lights that gave it some added warmth. Having come during the evening, once the park itself had closed, I noticed there were traditional style wooden stalls that sold a range of hot snacks, similar to those you’d find at a Christmas market. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_b34e_659_48f0_3d09" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYWIHcyC08zs9d4Q33Pp8K4ljvYsaMVAcWlMkEMYNdvexbMGPEaNeh-U8zDn2SU0eAvhtg9rVU_1ON5pRfAoNDjM1EAli6y4GQizTY6qj1hSl2GXUqaa5ymgVzXwz0RuNdo2YVDHGJYn4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>After our session, we then headed over to the on-site Steak Barn for our dinner. </div><div>Having not been given a time slot for our visit, we did arrive around 30 minutes before the kitchen had opened but nevertheless, we were welcomed with the offer of drinks at our table and the waiting staff couldn’t have been more attentive. </div><div>This rustic Steak Barn, with stone walks and timber beams was wonderfully cosy in such a horrid wet and windy Saturday night. With more fairy lights, Christmas decorations and a big log burner, we felt warmed and at home. The Barn also had a family nook, with activities to keep children entertained and big comfortable sofas for the parents. Dogs on leads were also welcomed, much to the delight of my daughter who got to smooch with a furry guest on the next table. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_6514_c404_34d_1d67" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdmSdtqB99bIlaP2h9Yn6Hya3lxStZM9UbpJDMeofqaH3auBVr57qCoZ_foatoOJJV0DWPYJ7SwLJ1bk1jqcFA2IS_j3Ummq-JJBplMQkuZp-ij0uB2q2mtwP-vOQYHKFcWngZfcXIaoQ/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br>Ordering our food, we enjoyed a plate of complimentary toast whilst we waited. Thick slabs of hot, smoky bread with a generous knob of smoked salted butter. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_af08_ed56_a544_44e8" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFgW5pSXWaY_G8CGzk699crIlf3kC9uAcf9T3xkh7NOykV4Feq0jx_40pm6o1ptOJtUa-p3HU-ybElCk9kTMqjLixa3OqP4X1rUXiZseymIjOKcOGHc_aA_eTnSaTzYLIyOS2d-U6SICo/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>I’m so easily pleased. Bread and butter is a sure fire way to keeping me happy!</div><div><br></div><div>For my main course, I ordered the rib eye steak (£19) which came with chunky chips and a sauce of my choice. I went for the Stilton butter of course! </div><div><img id="id_df41_561a_a9b1_f03" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMvReEfkMKdz_GDFX6T5AJDTiD43MlKPWb4HlyIHAX1J4AOvQGjM7ggGpge_aExZsq3Fz9L7KjySN6ucn1C8nGV18LNJz0FF6lDhJf2PJSS4L0sLWUEQHxENDIhooSGKtXZMWGJCD-_P4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking- medium rare, with a more than generous knob of the Stilton butter. So much so, that my daughter took some for meal. She opted for one of the few vegetarian options, the caramelised onion and Brie pie (£9.95) but was sadly disappointed. With only the slightest hint of either elements, her pie was more pepper, tomato and spinach and struggled with a strange aftertaste. There was a very limited choice for both vegan and vegetarian customers which let the meal down slightly.<br><br>Overall, our visit to Old Down Country Park was a positive one. The staff were fantastic and a real credit to this place. A huge thank you and mention to the lovely girl that looked after us at the rink. She was patient, warm and very friendly. </div><div>The rink will be open throughout December at the hours listed below, and through to the 23rd of January, although I would suggest checking the website for the listed days and times of these. Prices for the skating are £7.50 for adults and £5.50 for children. You can buy tickets online or at the Barn Cafe during opening hours. <a href="https://olddownestate.co.uk/events/ice-rink-real-ice/">https://olddownestate.co.uk/events/ice-rink-real-ice/</a></div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_955b_4439_43d4_4e35" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm4_TbsBHF2NzKxShjLrZG_Ufqc3W_hLcw9ngQn3_XHbWDmCbb9c6AHJB6Lo43ifj8hqVQHZLa9m73g7aeDT8xAOwsxV0AfCPe56G_ne7TMHQyO7phjVzERoBjls7eFHnLLFJaH2ipaYc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05567476474848578869noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229835800961754140.post-55377941100657826772018-12-16T08:41:00.001+00:002018-12-28T08:02:40.388+00:00 Bosnian and Herzegovinian Supper Club at The Bristol CookhouseAt the beginning of the month I was kindly invited along to my first ever supper club, held at The Bristol Cookhouse. Being only a short stroll away from my home on Gloucester Road, I had been wanting an opportunity to visit and this was the perfect event. <div>Having absolutely no idea on what to expect and not having tried Bosnian cuisine before, I was really quite excited. </div><div><br></div><div>I arrived just as the first course was being served up, generous servings of homemade pickled vegetables, grown in the garden of host Dino Zelanika and a glass of Sok of višanja- sour cherry codial. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_1361_674f_cbe9_28b" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizTC-JvDaxoMVjDPKX9pl0d8YWl5shh6BTBIkI_KzuYy_hTDIyyo78sr5xcXS3MQnCX875cMGfdJA0ajyPzvwQwVenYxmT8Ybq0p59_Ro7HiUvS7VxsO7NRv99WD7xgUy9qxllCzmMPd4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_9c9_2057_ee56_8c10" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtillZObMIjYkMEItPXIiqGHhj6RnYsMvV7F-py1TJcaqu_bkaobJLaxEhkwBemmzNK3_ZD_JDjSy8Ouj0qAduMD57lAOLMihHfqqTg2EDER37JVL_1_B8DTOEDBGksfVAbwG4_pREKaQ/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Pictured here we have, pickled carrots with garlic, olive oil and parsley. Turšija- salty vegetable pickle. Shredded mixed rainbow pickle. The aubergine being my favourite, perfectly pickled but with a beautiful spicy kick and the carrots were something I never gave much thought tomin regards to pickling but worked so well! </div><div><br></div><div>Having arrived to the Supper club alone, I was worried I wouldn’t fit in, possible eat alone and generally feel out of place but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was warmly greeted by Dino and sat with a table of personal friends and former mentors of the host and it was lovely to meet such a diverse range of people. Bosnian food is very Mediterranean in the way that it’s small plates, meant for sharing. The mezze like dishes meant we sat and discussed each dish, each favouring our own elements. My favourite of the night being the incredible Maslena Pogač- Tear and share butter bread. This loaf was impeccably laminated, spiralled in to bite size rolls and oozed deliciously warm butter. Our table didn’t leave a crumb! </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_9b19_1113_4d58_d779" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdKU0Tg5U4YQ8H_j2l9AjyU0doRC2JbV476JoRLuQwK7lrlb1rYF_jthBava_BIoJR9gSiLk05xJ5OL41OKFp4fg0iRzj6uot61q4bAWK69U79XNwPXaSZ5CVI20FXo2EcptIxCK4UQwY/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_bce7_5d23_7942_7812" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbCW2I4cu5SENPrLGcVzQrg_KArkGr587af-DWigq7oxAW2iaM26HPllvedBe1-jQf5X442G5R-P2QAVhrex10U4s_vs6mOmkkh1h4Tfue3EXbxi-P9sLamNwmdqCCL1zvAgTi2gMmDXM/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_47af_535d_ad77_d7ce" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA6rfXCrsJZnQDAGqcQnf6aP_auiR6zI1_q6zZRxBWeAWj7PmFxoJwOk3nW7Jm5Uq8-1-cc-El-_4Lu-tJYwdTv1o7D1JdxsORF89m0-h0jonb72-p9lVqkRxEPx62k4FncIt9_Hxc9uI/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>With breads must come cheeses! Made from homemade beef and chicken stock, this felt almost medicinal. That century old broth you’d drink to combat colds and ills and warmed you from within. Accompanied by a little semolina dumpling that sat like a little duck in a pond. It was the perfect way to cleanse the pallete before the main course.</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_dc3c_5fc_312a_6a21" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUOG6ZiUA_XeQGWNyUcp5SQamShOlyL-CraeLw-A6DYaJQ7PADilZhZHd5tovmi85JN9E3K_m4Ls1wktUw08euHcJK3F6cp3Xy0h529ONrj3J47La8v97yLRZ6o0YE9roGtsTK5No7LBQ/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Starting to feel full, we moved on to the mains. </div><div>Burek- A Bosnian meat pie with beef and lamb was simple and rustic in flavour. It wasn’t too dissimilar to a pear in its texture and flavour, being very delicate, almost aromatic. </div><div><br></div><div>I had the most lovely night at The Bristol Cookhouse and of course being a guest of the most delightful host was a bonus. Within a short stones throw away from my house, this quaint and quirky little corner of Bristol really looks out and supports one another other. But when it comes to eating here, that’s where I’m a stranger. </div><div>I had heard nothing but great things about this husband a wife run little restaurant through the food scene and knew I had to come to Mina Road to see for myself just what the fuss was about. </div><div><br></div><div>Arriving on a wet Sunday lunchtime, I was ready to relax, get cosy and eat a cracking roast dinner. With summer we’ll and truly out the window, it was time to start getting my winter body ready (Let’s face it, this body is a 365 kinda thing but we’ll humour it!). </div><div>Entering this little eatery, it was clear I had missed the memo and everyone and his neighbour was visiting. Having booked our table, we were one of the fortunate ones to get seated. With so many covers, people were being turned away. We sat at a little table for two but with big, homely style dining tables, you could have the option of dining communally which is always nice. I could chat to anyone about food all day long, given half the chance! </div><div>The Cauldron prides itself on using no gas, just big open fires, using their cauldrons. No surprise there given the name. But what is surprising is just how well the food is cooked in this way. </div><div>We quickly poured over the simple roast menu, ordering a Wiper and True beer- neighbours of course- and debated over sides. We opted for a slice of each meat, so we could sample each on offer and I’m glad I did. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><br><img id="id_c0d2_d6f0_e6c5_eda4" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMD9FfvjIpr__dKjMi-0pgLErshf-rV4OZ-EkZWLGK959YnoQ9vl7_RrrP3KR1SnU4rvS9QPVQHjHwKCYwYi_hfZwJKt921shMv80jsZJuiBt3CrbYVqdzHPQz8xNJD_IjP-RlmAjf4Js/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Firstly, I could smell this cooking before I got to eat it. The large open kitchen meant that you constantly had this waft of deliciousness gracing your nostrils, and with every passing of a server, you secretly hoped the plates they were holding were yours. <div>The pink meat was soft and juicy with the sweet smokiness creeping through. The first meat, garlic and rosemary marinated lamb with stuffing, the second was crackling griskin pork which cut like butter but sadly no cracking to be seen on my particular plate and the last, the apple wood smoke roasted sirloin of Angus beef. With beef dripping roast potatoes, cumin roast carrots, roasted beetroot, onion and tomato, smoked butter peas and beans and of course a whopper of a Yorkshire Pudding that sat like crown atop a pile of smokey riches. We had to go for a bowl of cauliflower cheese to share because every roast needs it’s creamy sidekick!</div><div>The gravy was in a world of its own. Taking a whopping 4 days to make, its flavour derived from beef, lamb and chicken bones and some trotters which adds its glossy shine, cooked in Bertha, a 60l cauldron. <br><br><img id="id_9f9e_c83d_e443_7156" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih4r-YznPAyh9iIaik_00qWtxKJ0sypJKRs3XL0eCHgmnIFgQ_nOy_a695RBGuvmcmKQqZkqKqHeUQO4ij5gimZhLukeFcog1aIkLHXiHDYLZXQmtUJgzSGDAz_c6Nt10kVv3Q1aYFTcc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="An extra shot of this simply stunning roast dinner because 1 is not enough! Not solely for the purpose of the food but for their ethos. Supporting local businesses is something that The Cauldron strive upon and is also something very close to my own values. Not only keeping their fuel sources as natural and bare as possible, it goes the same for their produce. With ingredients sourced extremely closely, they also ensure they stock local drinks too. You couldn’t get more supportive and eco friendly than that. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><br> </div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05567476474848578869noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229835800961754140.post-5191568044903015662018-09-28T22:27:00.001+01:002018-10-02T13:06:11.014+01:00Autumn Florals ft Matalan I recently had the pleasure of visiting the <a href="https://www.matalan.co.uk/" target="_blank">Matalan</a> headquarters on a press event and met the team behind the brand. Discussing all things fashion, focussing especially on the new Autumn/Winter collection and Christmas party must haves, I got to preview their new key pieces for the new season.<br>
<div>
For attending, I was lucky enough to be gifted a beautiful dress. </div>
<div>
This stunning Papaya Curve dress features a split sleeve and collar detail, in a brightly coloured, bold botanical print. </div>
<div>
I couldn’t resist creating a cute fall look with my favourite jacket and boots and teaming my dress to my lipstick. </div>
<div>
The dress is a pull on style, in a non stretch polyester. I stuck to my usual size 22 which fit comfortably but if you prefer a little room, I would recommend sizing up. I loved how it skimmed my shaped yet still showed off my figure. </div>

What I’d wear, what artists I’d see play there, the brands and the people behind them, who I’d meet and of course, exploring a city I’m not used to. But as it got closer, that excitement was quickly replaced by fear. That gripping tightness in my chest, the fear of being lost, the paranoid feelings of people not liking me or people making hurtful remarks. Would I stand out in all the wrong ways? Would I be judged? All these things that I hide deep inside yet tell other people to ignore or embrace. That contradicting feeling only adds to my anxiety and I struggle to keep focus on the simplest of tasks. </div><div>Now this was a relatively small festival. Think a single stage, some food vendors and some fairground rides with no camping. But with all day performances over the course of two days. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_263e_bdb0_a188_f50" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLrNDENJNA0fh1JnwFkAD1ZYqGJeDhD70kNqQ5gJlgy70TapQNpdbPQ3lfArCyUOxFm_WhYqq-99Ka9NXgqx5FmuLhuE4xcp2basdyVUTfE4gJEi0RM75DTjd_g30Obu7tCsE2-2ulWcY/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div>So here are a few of the things that I do or did, in order to help my worried brain out a little;</div><div><br></div><div><b>Know my route. </b></div><div>Ok so this one seems a given, right? Know the stations or roads that you’d need to take to get to the venue so you know you are heading in the right direction. I suffer massively with the fear of being lost by myself and find if my travel route or thoroughfare are listed in some way, I’m less likely to panic. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Take your time.</b></div><div>If I’m rushed, I have less time for my rational side of thinking things through properly. I try to leave earlier to create a more relaxed journey or pace myself and allow the fact that I may just well be late. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Take time out</b></div><div>We all know that self care is more than just bath bombs and cleansing, right? It’s knowing how much you can physically cope with within the amount of time to do them in. Taking time to relax your mind and body will help with the bigger challenges. This weekend I made sure I got to sit in the bath the morning before the second day at the festival so that I could hear my thoughts in a tranquil setting. The same goes for when you are at the festival too. Finding a spot on the grass to sit down and take a break for a few minutes is always good. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Know your exits</b></div><div>So sitting in a somewhat quiet area of a festival is often going to be met with noise, people, sometimes litter and when it all becomes too much, be sure to know where the nearest exit is so you can remove yourself for a short while to gain some space and peace. We were by the coast this weekend and it really helped to look out at the calming water and feel the breeze on my face when I got too flustered. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_6205_966b_227c_60ca" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnpTDqyYmVsLAouM0BySVIp1myfhUkwnNXgHBlEqVD6k2SCB6cNqfZDomi-7DjgIgv12vW1sSJP-KzpTnC8aPxC_6IBJav3Po-iJa6sSRl0Ab7NfQfpXtCyhdGyIxDmmwmGnv2f9fsDfw/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div>These are just a few examples of what helped me this time in an unknown crowded place. Obviously anxiety affects people in a multitude of ways but knowing what triggers you can also be a massive help to ease a bad situation. I made sure to eat and drink well, steer clear of overly crowded spots, keep alcohol consumption to a limit and took taxis to and from the festival to avoid more people when I needed space. I did attend this festival with my husband which helped massively. I know that I wouldn’t have done so well without him, given that our hotel was so far away from the festival and out of town. It took 3 trains from Bristol to Liverpool and I found it mentally exhausting. It’s was such a comfort having someone I knew, with me.</div><div><br></div><div>Massive thank you to Alloutbeautyuk.com that not only invited me along to Fusion Festival but for being such wonderful hosts to myself and my husband. </div><img id="id_ef6e_458c_de82_72a2" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMwq1C5BKmNB2HhM0KaLB_yxSWnmVPJl9rwkuIqW4tYDjedVQsmqV6mzH0oIpYkofQfYv4u0WsGUQExRcTJLqQRKHcCvjKVq1bBaYrlAHes1NU54svLqRJ7jJGSGejCcvbbz9UcsgyOb8/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05567476474848578869noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229835800961754140.post-4307874711677907992018-09-04T22:46:00.001+01:002018-09-04T22:46:25.647+01:00Irregular Choice - Deckchair Diva Now, I’m certainly no stranger when it comes to colourful clothes. The brighter my hair, the louder the clothes, the more confidence I feel. <div>So when Irregular Choice got in touch and asked if I’d like a pair of shoes to try, I couldn’t wait! Known for their crazy patterns, quirky styles and WILD heel designs, I just knew that they’d send me something simply amazing. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>They certainly didn’t disappoint!! </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><img id="id_b42c_ea57_21e0_6c2f" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoSr0YxI2ABo_wvjE_85ci8tz43PnXZylBjtz8Ao9j68PbTo6E_NOO-4LCovI9Yp-aJJY5S7LJb__tmQgUxeSW1xHmPJiqeJNHkJfllsZAjmKMWd4L-ih_oh6lWJOQNHtp9oEcqnp8_ns/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_aa25_612_7b1_759c" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGzcfsrDTbDrv4dA7cXxSViyMG8hd5oIAA-v-GORTofmWvhFd_kj9E0gq_RlwjBWJEUR9rTGuHwFwxNCV3uoSeAgidfLb0uwGoyf5IH3isyiitLra8PcipE2qSfQ0wjyQbxhFEk1ttuT4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_7a4e_5e71_6e5c_9cfb" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjIDi65vJ6NrRKBEmd0NebOT8OdtypD8HykTuyajQoQ-K2YE_3EPl-veT7w_VKhrkgz7H4q7HPYQbDQIaToYLcWjuYAzpUx890MYdWUcebK2Fx9aizDsOo-xAnDHIO019LQXbV0Vbtxmc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_28f5_d318_f939_c5e2" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzmLtscT_tmVSxZ5vCMERth7F3gCzXVbUYhQaEigNJH26M-DlEKGFMicxRWD8haBs-of5flVl2PLqh6aY15WP5ERtKhqcEc9x7nSj-100ZlBk1roGf4isespP6Tux2fCZ4HvSzrnG03Ns/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br>Aren’t they incredible?!! With bold, contrasting colours to the toes, heart print to the sides and ICE CREAM SUNDAES for heels, I was simply blown away! Quite literally! I just knew I had to take these out straight away and where else but by the seaside. The sundaes made me think of 50s style diners, full of candy shades of pink and blue and although I don’t live near a diner, I do have some cute beach huts. Wind, rain, all the typical British weather that could blow my way did as soon as I reached the coast. Donning my favourite rain jacket, nothing was going to deter me from releasing my inner ‘Deckchair Diva’.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05567476474848578869noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229835800961754140.post-12835051456170854382018-09-04T22:31:00.001+01:002018-09-14T16:34:45.836+01:00The Ashville Steak House- ReviewNestled away in a little back street off Coronation Road in Bedminster, you’d find a little pub that from the outside, looks no different to any other ‘local’. But <a href="http://www.theashvillesteakhouse.co.uk/docs/Menu%20FEB%202018.pdf" target="_blank">The Ashville</a> delivers so much more than a regulars watering hole, serving up some of the best quality meat South of Bristol. . <br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
When <a href="https://www.socialightapp.com/" target="_blank">Socialight</a> first invited me down to try out The Ashville, I had already known what I was in for as I had previously visited for a steak tasting social event. The sheer joy I felt, knowing I was to return to try yet more courses AND enjoy them with my husband was very exciting. </div>
<div>
If you’re no stranger to this blog, you’d be well aware that I’m very much a lover of meat in all forms. The rarer the better in my eyes! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Arriving on a Thursday evening, I was surprised at just how busy The Ashville was. Not in an overcrowded way, there was a happy atmosphere with a large family party enjoying a feast at their table and several couples enjoying their date nights, possibly relishing a child free moment to chat and eat at their own pace. Something I’ve learned I need at least once a week to keep my sanity!</div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">With its white washed walls, chunky wooden furniture and fairy light covered ceilings, I felt like I had stepped in to a little countryside Inn. I also loved the hand tied table flowers that gave the setting such a personal, homely feel.</span></div>

<div>
We were greeted with a warm welcome from the owner, Sandor, who was friendly and attentive to all guests who were both dining and arriving. </div>
<div>
Seated at our table we were quickly salivating over the quite simple menu. Deciding which cuts of beef to have, which sides and sauces and wether we wanted starters or dessert more. With me, if you put cheese as a starter or dessert, I’m going to want one. So we decided to share a baked Camembert. This was off their Specials board, not the main menu. </div>

We could hear this little beauty before we even saw it! A hot, bubbling bowl of deliciousness that was the perfect size for one, but maybe on the smaller size for sharing. But for greedy folk like me, it was just perfect to whet my appetite before the main event. I did feel that the salad garnish was not needed but loved the thick cuts of toast for dunking.</div>

Opting for our favourite cut, both my husband and I ordered the 10oz rib eye. I adore this tender cut, with its rich marbling of fat, I’m always guaranteed a juicy steak and this one made no exception. Perfectly cooked at medium rare, this steak was well seasoned and beautifully chargrilled. With each steak comes a generous portion of triple cooked chips, grilled tomato, onion and a salad. For me personally, I found the chips to be quite an effort to eat. Roughly chopped in shape, these are pretty hard to the outside and not so fluffy on the inside and didn’t soak up the meat juice like I’d expect a good chip to. I’m not a great fan of salad with my steak and did leave it this time but my husband seemed to enjoy his.</div>

Feeling pretty stuffed and suffering from a case of meat sweats, we ploughed in regardless and ordered a dessert to share. A generous slice of ginger cheesecake from the Specials board was the perfect ending to our meal. </div>

Yet another offering in the ever diverse combination of food retailers that reside there. <div>Sholay is run by the team behind the award winning The Mint Room in Clifton. Focusing on Indian street food, what this shipping container lacks in space, certainly makes up for in its food. Keeping its menu simple yet full of flavours whilst using the freshest, local produce. </div><div>The container itself is compact but tastefully decorated with quotes and images from Bollywood films, including a beautiful mural that really takes centre stage.</div><div><br></div><div>Having been sat at our table on a particularly wet and rainy evening, we found Sholay to be rather busy but this didn’t distract the staff being super attentive and accommodating. </div><div>The menu itself was simple and varied. Dining with my 16 year old daughter was no challenge, we wanted one of everything! With her being pescatarian, she found a wide range of things she could eat without feeling like she was missing out, something that we really appreciate.</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_1f78_e1ac_18ab_d190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw1x3Dgs3npQKSUOvCb9jB_Da18fPB0qRZt0juGr6tIm1teJ6sB8-2VEMYQFQzfDddHXG512lclxYnGC1pMVUvmW_A03auQ32CQ-BTAXAbFpqRCOvT5WGSZb4Zc2CP3uNNvlKmcz2toWw/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>Ordering a signature mojito, one rum and one virgin, we agonised over what dishes to order. Just what I needed on this wet evening. </div><div>My daughter went for the masala fish and chips (£12). The fish was firm and flaky, but a little on the dry side and lacked on flavour. A side of chutney would of been preferred over the pot of ketchup but the fries were crisp and seasoned beautifully. </div><div>With more soggy customers turning up and the container getting a little more cramped, we finished our meal and left. Not before being offered a choice of kulfi for our travels. Went opted for the honey rose and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Sweet and creamy and reminiscent of milky lollies from my youth. Add to the fact this was coming from one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol, I knew I had to go!<div><br></div><div>Arriving on a particularly nippy Sunday morning, I was greeted with a smile and shown to a cosy booth with high backed sofa seats and was promptly offered a glass of Champagne as I waited for my other guests to arrive. If this was the way things were looking for the rest of brunch, I was in for a treat! </div><div>My two friends arrived, again, offered some more Champagne and we got down to choosing who was having what first. With options varying from simple overnights oats and granola, classics such as Eggs Benedict and Full English to the more adventurous dishes like Maple glazed confit duck on waffles and bacon and maple syrup pancakes. I’m such a big fan of sweet and savoury foods so they were definitely on the cards! </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_d97e_fa65_eb52_cccd" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUrUPdW5Ua-l9GwKc9sHta1DvwX0ovERfbOXQ6lIf68BpshHqqju78XLDG22V0-iVQR2JbK6euR4MiUbVeBQSY8uXCbQQtzsyEN1C7YzoVOPSqIbNU0E_GE6gBxI1f9G7xSkKzi1V4J_k/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_b6af_7bda_f0c6_93bb" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWLlN15Aqm2V3O_YPC8lnwy_rxkCRoCfhyphenhyphen4UiNaw8r_iB119q3vA7gicL7NR3UeTITvFXsYDCvxWAKvqclMFkmyt_oXsGRaDTi64HEzdVN0VKEWDVnqPkGhiRKKFuq_prdKCix8auei4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I started out with the Jetty’s own take on the Eggs Benedict, ‘Jetty Benny’ was avocado, poached eggs, crispy bacon and a beautiful Hollandaise sauce a top an crisp English muffin.</div><div><br></div><div>The pancakes were a big hit, my two favourite being the caramelised Apple and cinnamon cream and the bacon and maple syrup. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_a04a_590b_79e9_75af" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaLFvcbEHvr1Yq6Hc-UrqzCwWZ9LLoX6_r0ZK0rRuInFzYX0psGmPt9mC5Gf5eJQnSLmVL3q2p97iczoBT5cm6-BIANcNHBrDu6m_UUkHenp8xDxy3FzxO3DeCuvjOjOtB-GQXLAHNlsI/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_d655_336_3ee4_1bbc" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGWTyneNUMg0mty2Ghbp8POsodd3hsXgCkq6ChjVKW4vhnXzH8HQeT7I1w8xxr3bFDniNhRk6FzJK3fB9uvtMib5gdN9xW0WWCyCPrfz9PdqgcZMjGPkmQpVqK7TXbLKIPRjKCDT4PGSU/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div>The dishes were small and light, so that you could actually make the most of sampling your favourites from the menu without filling up too quickly. </div><div><br></div><div>We decided to end our meal with a beautifully made Bloody Mary- I like mine spicy - And the duck waffles. No, neither did I!<br />
<div>
Nestled above Walkabout on Corn St, you’ll find <a href="http://www.felsons.co.uk/" target="_blank">Felsons</a>. A stick hall and cocktail bar. Spread out over 2 floors and 5 rooms- 2 of which can be hired privately, Felsons have a range of quality tables, dining areas, leather sofa’d booths, a well stocked cocktail bar and a great kitchen serving up all the best drinking matched food you could need. </div>
<div>
I arrived with my husband on a quiet Wednesday night but surprisingly Felsons was in full swing. With a few empty tables just waiting to be played on, I was surprised how laidback and un macho this place felt. No judging looks at this complete novice, this place was for just about anyone of any ability. </div>
<div>
The main floor was laid out with good quality but standard tables in a slightly industrial decor with art and graffiti adorning the walls. </div>
<div>
Next to the bar and lounge however was the premium tables and were of much higher class. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_e90c_4da_e7b2_8c3d" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtA5RiSgsPmee3-p4oKY2uBIR77PUKN4ugxEUNsoRNy3KGQY5cDfxZMi9ogQLYCU0H5tpK51dBQE_yi5bxriWX8FDf5Ou4Ixyq2BRfZ6wUisVkeuZWRKdcSuWTYXhgGZdK0KJBMVnZ4kw/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<i>Eddies Room, named after Eddie Felson himself, is one of two private lounges available. With a premium table, leather sofas, a 43’’ TV and bar/food tab for you and your party of up to 15.</i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_330e_aeae_655c_7611" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8YRdM6uYgCdzImdj6ooxhr75k-whZeVgoU3lx6LoG49bxKaCQHSfAkWFEMh8WE6Nl28Ums_hG1qelFaeS7W6XF9mPdua1xR6lRhmweHQV1XSCDfbPdcPSuk9GD2L8NYVk64_wQkNDdvQ/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />

<i>And again, the Hustler Lounge providing a private space, ideal for parties. Giving you seclusion from the rest of the hall and has the bonus of having your own hostess. </i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
Whilst we were here, we got to sample a few of the amazing cocktails on offer. We chose a quiet spot, not too far from the bar, in a leather seated lounge area. I love that it had the atmosphere of a cocktail lounge without feeling overwhelmed by an over masculine or ‘sports’vibe. I could totally see this as the ‘wags’ area, great for chats over drinks whilst the men do the pool stuff. </div>
<div>
Opting for something new, I couldn’t quite grasp my choice! </div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_5144_5171_ea51_5b90" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbEVhuVQxjjI5RhBslYlwPzecOw7SxIJq565IoTXt-V-Mtsc7IVwW21yLzdv3r7IwMWvp_xrdW3i3AUF9aEJKxP6HNN7hW1BagplfzYgsB9gsBak5jNNfa7V5_flUbRkP5jGAoD0m1p9k/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<i>The Corona-Rita! A classic Margarita with a whole bottle of Corona running through it! </i></div>
<div>
<i><br /></i></div>
<div>
Having whetted our appetite with drinks, we then sampled some of the dishes on offer. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>

<br />
With classics such as Loaded nachos, Crispy Chicken wings, Parmi chicken skewers, Sweetcorn Fritters with maple bacon, Beer battered onion rings, an array of wraps like the Halloumi and avocado pictured here, loaded fries, an array of burgers, it’s clear that this deep fried lovers menu is perfect for pairing with your favourite tipple. It was great to see a good variation for vegetarians too. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You can also find a range of great midweek deals and offers like this one we spotted. </div>

Of course with this particular burger giving a nod to the classic poutine, I had high hopes for that expected cheesy squeak. </div><div>All burgers came with a side of rosemary salted chips. Ft River Island Plus<br><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Have you tried the <a href="https://www.riverisland.com/c/women/plus-size-clothing?icid=mu/women/ri-plus" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">River Island Plus</a> range yet? After digging out last years wardrobe, I quickly realised I needed not only a few new clothes but opted for a bold new look. I love how River Island manage that chic, stylish look but with added character in their prints, fabrics and cuts, and I’m so glad they have tried to carry this through to their Plus range. During the summer months, it’s all too easy to pop on a simple dress or our favourite vest and shorts. But what about dressing up? Personally, when it’s blazing outside, the last thing I want is to wear something overly formal or fussy so I thought I’d go for something a little different for me. I browsed the plus section on the River Island page and instantly fell in love with these pink trousers.</div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_76b7_d797_2ddd_ad4b" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7qY7nNi-vkce90EErAKVs4XTeBE-uRTlqSb9lQcYkKXA6YxWpp3Lf3weeE0ffcNXXMGaS9ODvS86GF_VsYKzG83ktY1kKHZyXRnhLxR-QEcgRIl0QmsWDg8jfWV40QN4rPJirVv4gCYM/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div><div>I love the tie waist for that cinched in look, and the way the bottoms taper really show off my great legs. <div>
Now, even after living in Bristol for over 8 years and getting married just down the road from Chew Magna, I had still never had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful place. </div>
<div>
A vast stretch of reservoir nestled in the foot of both the Dundry and nearby Mendip hills, this little restaurant had the most amazing scenic views. </div>
<div>
We arrived a little earlier than planned so took a little walk around, taking in the sunset over the lake and feeding some ducks on the bank. The restaurant itself is right by the car park so it’s easy to find and there is a little playground outside, perfect for those with young children.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<img alt="" id="id_879_c175_fe82_f157" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw8CbcUZso9X7GwsfNjPc1YnQ1RCtxXgtRfvwi5-viK6Ml-b3_l-T-QnstL07bd9oLBvG23170anQD8f9nWNNDXcLq987CwPRXgKwVkkT5A0ANklsgrySHGPiNfxteOvdzhnAOu3XJDL4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
The restaurant itself was wonderfully spacious, light and well ventilated. With large pull open doors that can we opened in summer to give that lovely ‘outside, in’ feel. </div>
<div>
We were received with a warm welcome from the lovely Zowie who couldn’t of been more attentive. The staff were an absolute credit to this restaurant and made us feel incredibly special. Something I’ve found quite rare lately.</div>
<div>
My husband and I were seated at our table, right by the glass doors so we could watch the sun setting which obviously was the best place to be sat. Enjoying a cold glass of house white, we salivated over the restaurants new tapas menu, wanting one of everything! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_d72a_2305_5f91_84f9" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOFne2kSuLiq8SRHavsadVtEvK2WSdVcaGY8E0Uz02klZ9sfvc3v_sUm88TVqYuGvWkL-iImTLvHry6Dreeot7qbhFGeDGkdOoEl0Dejv9PmBpOCsu5Nb0UYmF8Y54h5tK4GK02vjh7to/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
The new ‘Tapas Tuesday’ menu featured plenty of seafood choices, as well as vegetarian options for the reasonable price of £3.50 per plate or 3 for £10. </div>
<div>
After agonising what we would go for, this is what we decided on;</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_8f8e_1bab_b9a6_2718" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0baXfJMN4FIDkPe_S1niXhm7iQoqsN00SAuoW3ApWTJiBE09djXLvtBcdfca_YCjeHdAUe6IV9PGYpkvY7z4yJydR22UhBwEU0X4JCd_U01MYD3i0-3d5Nnl6RoQNwk4GNSpzghg2a5A/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was my ultimate favourite. So much so that I ordered it twice! Curried brown butter shrimp on toast. This was heaven.</div>

Seeing as we were at a fish and chip restaurant, I couldn’t help but order something deep fried. Halloumi with a side of chilli jam really hit the spot!</div>

If that lot wasn’t enough, we shoved a pudding in too! Cinnamon Creme Brûlée with apple sorbet. Stuffed!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It goes without surprise that Tapas Tuesday runs every Tuesday, with the full regular menu on offer too and you’ll also get 50% off your bottle of wine too. The restaurant has a no dog policy within the restaurant but are more than welcome, should you dine outside on the terrace. Salt and Malt is also fully accessible to disabled customers. </div>

<div>
If you are an avid reader of my blog, you may of seen that I visited The Jetty last year for Sunday lunch (post <a href="http://fattyboomtatty.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/sunday-lunch-at-bristol-harbour-hotel.html?m=1" target="_blank">here</a>) and loved it and twice to the hotels spa. Fast forward a year and I’m back to sample their new summer menu. </div>
<div>
As the name suggests, The Jetty mainly focus on fresh seafood dishes but obviously throw in non fish offerings too. But as a lover of fish, I was a happy girl.</div>
<div>
Settling in to our high backed sofa booth, my daughter and I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz whilst we waited for our food. </div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<img alt="" height="400" id="id_71fb_829d_46a_5c32" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt8TYq-FtQWtY0J7PExB0E8dBvFziS8Kwum33iDfG5iHp7Kp_o5AO3emofcVynQCdIOd-z0qxTFFZuxVrjnSPwNdb8uUnLPon5XNutWw6PcQxKKKpAXvikWOox2EZupUyqG0hiAhyfHZ4/s400/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" width="299" /><br />

<br />
First course of the night was the monkfish cheeks with tomato kasundi. A generous portion of two cheeks, with beautifully crisp batter on the outside, which gave way to it’s brilliantly white and flaky interior and not forgetting the punchy, rich kasundi for dipping. This particular kasundi was much thinner and paler than I’ve tried elsewhere but still delivered a wonderful mustardy punch in flavour. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now usually I’d always gravitate towards the fish course for my main but once I saw grilled lamb rump on the menu, I couldn’t focus on anything else. </div>
<div>

Melt in the mouth lamb accompanied with courgettes and basil and smoked almonds. The sauce was rich and full of flavour from the black garlic. Perfect for mopping up with my side of chunky chips. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Feeling the effect from such rich dishes, I sat and debated about having a dessert but let’s face it, who am I kidding here? There’s always room for dessert! </div>

The Jetty ice cream sandwich was a beast. Two chocolate cookies encompassed a peanut butter ice cream which I could of eaten by the bucket load. Topped with a rich chocolate ganache, it finished me before I could finish it! Sadly, I couldn’t taste the coffee element that was promised in its description but it wasn’t needed. </div>
<div>

As I’ve posted previously about the Bijou Flirt <a href="http://fattyboomtatty.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/elomi-bijou-flirt.html?m=1" target="_blank">here</a>, Elomi consistently create such stunning designs.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I’m now very fortunate to own the Anushka in both the pink (<a href="http://www.elomilingerie.com/lingerie/anushka/rom18/padded_half_cup_bra.aspx?colour=romance" target="_blank">Romance</a>) and teal (<a href="http://www.elomilingerie.com/lingerie/anushka/ly2017/padded_half_cup_bra.aspx?colour=luxury" target="_blank">Luxury </a>). When you find that one bra that you keep reaching for time and time again, it’s only right to get it in each colour way! </div>
<div>
This half cup bra is perfect for my breast shape. I carry a lot of my tissue at the bottom and not at the top (thanks breastfeeding!) and find that half cup or balcony bras really give me that rounded shape that I like. </div>

<br>I’m fortunate to have been professionally measured so I can confidently order the right size for me at Elomi, this particular style that I’m wearing is a 38G and find the banding just right. However, due to changes in hormones, the cups are occasionally too small but that’s to be expected.</div><div><br>
With a choice of either a blush pink or green/blue base with a stunning lace overlay, I just adore that ever so feminine, boudoir look. The Anushka is available in a D-H cup with matching briefs. </div>

Unlike my other bra reviews, this one was a little different.<br />
<div>
The new range of <a href="https://www.sugarcandybra.com/features-benefits" target="_blank">Sugar Candy</a> bras, by maternity company <a href="https://uk.cakematernity.com/" target="_blank">Cake Lingerie</a>, are completely padding free, wire free and seamless, yet still offer incredible support to large cup sizes.</div>
<div>
Meaning they are also suitable to sleep in.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_e1af_36e7_8784_b7a5" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_AnMV58VV-DISDQ3lc8Z0KZfuFZQhWpIvYkY8ZMmSwTE6eZRZc5GhQq6Yhz17D3vUJKRJpROaddUg7pMvnw5S8d1d_2nuS5-FNlJd2AKG8NYc92FqU4I-tHYDGjJ6KNisku45dD6AV9A/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
The <a href="https://www.sugarcandybra.com/features-benefits" target="_blank">Sugar Candy</a> bra is nothing short of an engineered masterpiece. When I was initially offered an unwired, unpadded bra, my first thought was ‘my boobs are saggy enough!’ After 3 kids and 8 months of breastfeeding, my bald heads need all the boosting and padding to make them look half decent. But honestly, once this bra was on, I was pleasantly surprised. </div>
<div>
The bra itself is made from a double layer of ultra soft micro yarn, which gives it the level of comfort but with each layer, is constructed of different patterns and density to add to the bras stability. The inside of the bra has a unique structure of material which mimics the shape of an underwire, almost creating a hammock to lift away the breast from the body. I absolutely love this feature! Side panels also stop the tissue from migrating round, avoiding that dreaded mono boob shelf. The back has an impressive 5 hook and eye fastenings, on a 6 row back but as someone who closes their bras from behind, I found this pretty tricky to master alone. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another thing that really impressed me was that this bra is designed for large busts only. Take a look at their handy size guide;</div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_bb70_9baa_a392_4312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5EGquwYl8wr-aLvPQufGM71MZLu4RroKyTg9b-nRilC80A53tLjtmwoJpgjtfypICRUyF0I3uP4mN_LWBvax9s_tXOS2E-x9jzpr9AEIXZQWrFhgVP_TsVatRGRmrWIFSttans3Ejzbg/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<img alt="" id="id_dd71_6ac8_52b5_aa82" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE0gm_FP7jYNtMDIS9hI0l4h6RLGo6iN9N_jGjhkz397CA7NDu5X8h7F5uw3po9KkL5dkcvLWj4O7o4Jhx2ofupp3Lg6T2B6ckfI527N7QSHRzig_IV84hD7BugSYC-rhcyJTl9uaVSeU/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" /><br />
<br />
<br />
It’s so refreshing to see a core range only focusing on larger sizes. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now, the Sugar Candy bra is nothing sexy to look at, it’s pure goal is to give a clean, simple look without the fuss of added extras. But I did like the ribbed underband with its ‘Cake’ slogan on it, giving an almost sports bra feel. And although the straps were soft, they did seem to take an awful lot of the weight during the day but not something I was aware of when in bed. So I would say this this is the ultimate bra for lounging around in when you still need the support. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Ladies, gents, those in between....I found chicken heaven...</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.wingsdiner.co.uk/" target="_blank">Wings Diner</a>, was and still are a pop up, now residing at <a href="http://www.smallbar.co.uk/bristol" target="_blank">Small Bar</a> on Kings Street. Serving up delicious fried chicken with an Asian inspired twist. Not forgetting the veggies and vegans of course! But for me, it’s all about the chicken life. Think fried chickenburgers, wings and pieces, but not like those weak offerings from your local fast food takeaways. I’m talking thick, juicy pieces of bird that leave you so greasy and full that you’re calling for help. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<img alt="" height="400" id="id_a7f3_c56b_792e_6dac" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWll6weYCNhgYeqpC1nqziUitIShDWmmkvldXist6u4a4DMj1p7NLotdjjUJqxo6RA5TXdOVmLKLd5RNKj8vkCu6kdp9moayW1SYnkM0qlmU2dUP4nSzllEyOilIFc-lAuLnPNNDmH5I8/s400/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" width="299"><br>
<br>
I went for the Thai style burger first. With a fat juicy chicken thigh on a bed of lettuce, topped with cheese and Srirachanaise (it’s a thing!) and I couldn’t of been more delighted that they used the softest, squishiest buns. I happen to be rather fussy when it comes to the right type of burger bun.</div>
<div>
And because it was my birthday, I didn’t plan on mucking around. I came for food and lots of it! So next came the dirty fries. </div>

Twice the photo because this had double the flavour of anything I’ve ever eaten before. Crispy little fries, covered in fried chicken, cheese and Korean sauce. These were incredible. The Korean sauce was like an umami bomb, that salty, heavy taste that was suitable for eating as a solo dish but no, here I was scoffing them as a side to my already deep fried meal. I couldn’t even finish my food as not only did I have the burger and fries but I was desperate to try the blue rice and had that too. I was so not sorry, the garlic sang like a</div><div>Morning bird and of course being blue in colour just added to the spectacle. There was wings involved at some point but after a while I was seeing stars and close to removing my trousers. My husband opted for the 2 piece meal, which he promised me was some of the most juiciest of legs he’d come across and loved the crunch of the coating. </div><div>Gasping for breath, we left full, happy and faces covered in food. We’ll certainly be back.</div>

I seriously can’t recommend Wings enough. And if you do get the chance to go, order the spicy peanut sauce with everything. I could of bathed in the stuff!<br>

<div>
Having previously loved the original, I could no longer drink it as I’ve become more intolerant to dairy and it just added to my discomfort. Fast forward to this new wonderful creation, with delicious notes of almond that was ever so subtle and didn’t leave you with an overbearing nutty taste. Baileys Almande is not only dairy free but also lactose free and gluten free too! Suitable for those with related allergies, intolerances and diets. </div>
<div>
Baileys Almonde is made from sweet almond oil, almond essence -(from crushed almonds), cane sugar, purified water and a touch of vanilla. It’s also slightly less strong than the original at 13% ABV </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Of course simply poured over ice is always a winner but on this occasion, I made the most of my afternoon off work and sat in the sunshine. I decided to try it poured over my favourite dairy free ice cream as an afternoon treat. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" height="640" id="id_591b_740d_81ad_6883" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0SY7GTQoiqAk_BxnDBwjcaX8wOXmXlTuMOF8oENb5Q_j7PC1eAcNyLJrkHHcJ6Px1nlfbuleXAVGjkP5qajqtU9QPdVFtouEtH_BYzKIah6LnyR9J5gYpm6zZqa_DnhBrPQhekIK2zkk/s640/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip="" width="459" /><br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
For other great recipe ideas, why not head on over to the Baileys <a href="http://www.baileys.com/en-gb/recipes/recipe-type.html" target="_blank">page</a> for some inspiration. I’m eager to try out the Flat White Martini!</div>

How do you enjoy yours? X</div>

Socialight are an upcoming website and app that aim to connect Bristol restaurants to local bloggers to collaborate together. Such a useful platform to help build a good relationship with the food scene!<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Ok let’s get back to the best bit- FOOD! And cocktails of course.</div>
<div>
We started the night with a Mojito masterclass, one of my go to cocktails when I’m struggling with choice. Perched on our stools at one of two of the main bars in The Cuban, we watched in awe as the barman whipped up multiple cocktails in quick succession. Such a pro! </div>
<div>
<br>
<img alt="" id="id_2ea_e536_7a6e_ce5f" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUoG0Hsu8cJ2MJb5g_Jsa3Fp07gN11bjlk6kjtgDfl0_T6VJW5i02vagthiQ3JI5iQqHHAbImR_2e3zkX-TU7nuelO_-pHWUPWTMOP3BiQbK5IszDDQZ1ErZZL0habtJIXgnoqazvI-Cs/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
Following on from the mojito, we got a taste for Havana and were served a few more rum cocktails such as the Tormenta Negra and the Hasta Mañana. Blimey, I was going to need feeding fast before I tipped off my stool!</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_c76f_ac97_8664_b575" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWcF84GTKmFxz5Fv61LHw2u4BvPXdNsaVawaq8PVHpdXufX4b8GByaH-G_LjJPZOyakUyJGRyoib_9Muq8kKg1uNfUHbpGMIEEqgp7r7tFXnD5l43UVLc8LQKZA-9zGohTu0xEptYXSJ4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>

<br>
Hurrying to our (huge!) awaiting table, we were promptly sat down and received a warm welcome and intro from manager Ellie. We were to choose a starter and main and any choice of drinks on the house. </div>
<div>
I noticed from the start that this menu was very meat heavy! Unless you’re happy with a simple salad, I’d say this place isn’t very vegan or veggie friendly. I’m not too clued up on my knowledge of Cuban cuisine so I’m unsure if this is just how they eat! It did however have gluten free options.</div>
<div>
For my starter I went for the Boquerones. I absolutely love fish and the saltier the better so it was a no brainer for me. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_ac8f_7060_6ed_5168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI69znH_qdVV3yHysp7FqRA_athyphenhyphen4XvUOpEWo1uIAC8GxqRh9fX0jnBfafzuMb51D2H1sELqmkklUEp8bU6leCaLO0VNMm8lMfHpqYJvy8-BSnQSw0bOsveH8AhHiR36SpjUE9IOzKXgc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
These silky little fishes were brined to perfection. With the added garlic to give it kick and parsley to lift the flavours. The seaweed buttered crouton was delicious and complemented the fish perfectly. Such a great little dish that was rich enough to satisfy without adding heaviness, leaving plenty of room to go heavy on the mains. Which I certainly did! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_7b13_425e_8bae_5829" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJpFU-U-DUluDG2tI-Mpt8ZXHtifsQTlG1CS0GqgwBtKlHgLMbYAnuA8eZii_I9c0p2_N57L3f6xTWCwhhJM3RbzYIn1uj7NLiyqkObXCmT2yJqqcJpo03D8fRcxiW6fq1c7y5bW-QadU/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
Opting for the belly pork was a wise decision. Served in a smoke filled cloche to add a theatrical element (I’m not overly convinced it added anything to the flavour of the dish) I loved the tender slab of meat. It was filling and cooked to perfection, the top fat retained some crispiness, the layer fat was melt in the mouth without any clagginess and the side of chorizo added that salty, smokey element. I really enjoyed the addition of the silverskin onions and the little pot of sauce but felt the bed of cassava really let the dish down. Oversized wedges that I found hard to wash down and left an overly starchy aftertaste. Maybe if the cassava was served in some other way, fries perhaps, then it would of been better. </div>
<div>
After our meal, the server kindly brought over a selection of desserts for us to try such as white chocolate panna cotta. I’m not a massive fan of puddings but did try them all and favoured the poached pears. I was however, relieved to see that they hadn’t gone down the safe/boring route of adding brownies to their menu, which seem to be everywhere right now. </div>
<div>
<br>
<img alt="" id="id_7d5f_6bef_e803_f021" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBn0Tg6EhVSwqakqe5OmBXHGYGARKYOKKN2n4T5y9-aKUwE_-3vln_vYFMKS8ClqPP_JfUi98OJRCEY0K1PsUfpQaFdL4-FsXMxAf0jgvCK1sPN1jB_TM_vWbcuXJzifRnzc19wF7e-lA/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
<br>
Throughout our meal we enjoyed a live band, Noche and Cubanna. It was such a lovely touch and really gave the restaurant a great atmosphere. Occupying the former home of Goldbrick House, this restaurant is visually beautiful. Set over 3 floors, The florist not only offers fantastic cocktails and restaurant but also regular weekly DJ sets, cocktail masterclasses and floristry workshops. I’m returning to try these out myself so keep your eyes out for my next instalment.<div><br>
<div>
With copper garden-like detailing such as mixer tap lamps and pipe work, flowers and greenery hanging from just about everywhere- Wisteria covered windows, laden floors and hanging flowers on the ceilings- this is a floral enthusiasts dream. Obviously silk flowers are not a patch on the real deal but let’s be honest, no one has the time or money for being that extra! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I was fortunate enough to invited down to sample the cocktail menu and Sunday lunch. </div>
<div>
Upon entering, I was shown to the ‘create your own Bloody Mary’ station. Now, to say I was somewhat apprehensive is an understatement. My only encounter with this Marmite of tipples was a metallic tasting, watery thing that was passed off as a drink some years ago. The staff at The Florist needed to convince me pretty well to give these another chance at winning me over. And they succeeded pretty damn well! I opted for the spicy variety. With spiced tomato juice, plenty of vodka, added chilli and pepper and rosemary, this Bloody Mary was delicious! Verging on a spicy gazpacho, I was a new fan to this way of drinking. </div>
<div>
<br></div><div><img id="id_9f7e_38c0_b251_4225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcAuVyQidhGynSJKSrmX4nrwH_2Eia9uGX2VoZ40O43MUAeRMba5drozYoM2YyjVyVTx3fMImvLKQvj1BZ_y6RucTTRAzC8OFQAJNHu_YMsx_RvDXEVG1sFOGdKlr7x8Ku1cR3sd9w0lk/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><br></div>

<br>
Once I had finished this cockle warmer and was joined by fellow friends, it was time to try the impressive cocktail menu. 17 pages to be exact! With an extensive list of gins, classics, modern takes and botanical focused cocktails, I was eager to try as many as I could. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
First was the Hibiscus Margarita (£7.95) with the black pepper highlighting the punchy notes of tequila and pink grapefruit </div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_b94c_494a_7ded_d7ee" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjniU2Okzze3R63kZhZmpjRLuCEhoATWZ6QA0E1xFpwCfe0NOWavMvINEFDgmB1Lt09S29hsrTf-esg1WCYOaOkLiCK8QRp0tnr_V-Y8MGHaO1nTCMejAFgFXKTrpQ4c9p8OfsuZrtSJt4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br></div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Second cocktail was the Balloons of Jasmine (£7.25) Delicate in flavour that was not dissimilar of sweets, from the mix of brandy, peach juices and egg white foam</div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_1977_afee_befc_26fc" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW2t7QlnxJr7SCziLSLgMjU-xAVU1ZUCvAcKxcnkJk8Vz9IE-CZszh75b9c-vPfVXJNCS5s0LcVq4gASfOsGwlYV-YgeCkwrk4AsQ9lwAoD6XZtYFrH8l5BltpdJ_m7-FgWyzYPop7F98/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
Heading up staircases adorned with flowers, the first floor was beautifully decorated with large flower murals on the walls. The large Victorian windows and high ceilings filled the room natural light. The Sunday lunch menu was impressive, with a good range to choose from and include both vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options. </div>
<div>
Being the ridiculous carnivore I am, I went for the Rotisserie roasted Ridings Reserve premium English beef (£13.95) with horseradish cream and the usual trimmings</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_ca47_8cc_69f9_3cd9" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim9Ee0bDzK9qD-dP1igM2YVz_IGg83TPOgI-LWoexmD7i6Ng3HfWe32D5rw3QDbLY_599y_xRFXBuhzzv8PwyQoKpmxer_IkWSJQ46KGg9gGgnf6e4R81-2Eu6RQEB4TDH82s16QATPQ8/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br>
The beef was cooked to perfection. With a deliciously delicate smoky flavour and melt in the mouth soft. The horseradish cream was possibly too subtle for my liking. The potatoes were fluffy in the middle and not overly crispy on the outside which is a shame as for me, that makes the best kind of roastie. Vegetables were tender and well seasoned and I think the generous Yorkshire pudding perched on top speaks for itself! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
For dessert, I went for the heaviest option there was- I have no idea why, I was already struggling after the food as it was- Lemon Polenta cake with Mulberry sorbet</div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_1e08_6e38_c0d6_d682" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwGZqSnjYYaNX6T969PF6AIi-51o3VYq_ZB336kYKafT9wtKN-dcTq3vUwhcNa9Yc9wFWkkDH1LDUjDsN-z5qGPNUF1x9a5Wq_N7Imvu9JhYk-cykGifu-kTprVAC9XSYXbTBg63O6Jy4/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" tooltip=""><br>
<br></div>
<div>
The cake was heavy yet moist with the top almost soaked with zesty lemon juice. The lightness of the tangy mulberry sorbet gave it some lightness and the addition of the toasted coconut and black pepper gave it an extra bit of texture, which although was nice, it was not really needed. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So what do you order when you’re fit to burst? That’s right, another cocktail. I’m not even sorry! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
The Geranium and Lychee Cooler was undoubtedly my favourite of all the cocktails I tried. I’m a massive lychee fan and this was summer gardens in a glass. It was unfussy, refreshing yet so effective. Perfect for ending a wonderful lunch. </div>

<br>
I’m not ashamed to say that I was bowled over by the interior design of The Florist and I’m all too aware that the appearance alone doesn’t equal success in the restaurant world. My lunch, although was offered in exchange for a review, was, in my opinion, great value for money. There was no long waiting times which given how busy they were, I was pleasantly surprised. Food was of great quality and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend. </div><div><br></div>

There’s nothing more I love than a big, snuggly, warm sweatshirt that I can lounge around in. This one from <a href="https://www.lovedrobe.co.uk/brands/topsycurvy/" target="_blank">Topsy Curvy</a> at <a href="https://www.lovedrobe.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lovedrobe</a> is just perfect. There’s not much I can write about it that you wouldn’t expect from your average sweatshirt other than the fact it is super soft. In that classic sweatshirt jersey fabric and soft and fluffy on the inside, it’s a wardrobe must have. And I just love the cute slogans. Mermaids Don’t Have Thigh Gaps is just so cute. I may not be a mermaid but I sure have no thigh gaps!<br />

Remember back in the 90’s where side popper trousers were the new thing? I had this hideous bright blue pair by a big sports brand and they were shinier than a shiny thing. There was one incident of me catching the side of the said trousers on the bus, full of school friends, and the entire leg popped open to reveal some less than cute granny pants. I was mortified!<br />
<div>
Fast forward 20 years and here I am again, but this time I’m embracing the fully exposed legs and feeling sexier than ever. Of course, the beauty of these fabulous <a href="https://www.lovedrobe.co.uk/brands/topsycurvy/" target="_blank">Topsy Curvy</a> trousers from <a href="https://www.lovedrobe.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lovedrobe</a> is that they are not made from that shiny, cheap material. And of course can be worn safely done up for that more practical look. These trousers are tapered to the leg, which is such a hot look with a pair of boots or heels. Or you could undo a popper or two and wear with trainers for that more relaxed look, lending a nod to the 90’s trend. Did I mention that they also have pockets?! </div>

Having seen a suggested post pop up on Facebook, I had been keeping an eye on this little shop for over a year before finally deciding to head over one cold morning. </div><div>Now, I’m not a big fan of milkshake, or any milk based drinks really but I am a fan of a gimmick. No surprise there, really. I especially love over the top, faddy foods so I just HAD to go, even if I wasn’t going to order a milkshake- or freakshake in this case- myself.</div><div>Walking through the door, it was clear that this place was not only well known but loved! A 15 minute wait for a table was needed and to be honest, I didn’t really mind, nor did my family. There were sofas to lounge on, newspapers to read and colouring books to keep my 5 year old distracted. And we loved watching the fish in their little aquarium.</div><div>Scanning the menu, the names and description of each shake made deciding on just one and almost impossible task. With each freakshake containing wafers, sauce, donuts and crazy flavour combos, it was clear to see why The Beehive Coffee House was shorlisted for ‘Best Coffee Shop’ by the Bristol Good Food Awards.</div><div>We settled on the Freak of the Week. A maple syrup flavoured milkshake topped with a waffle, donut, candy bacon, pretzels and sauces in condiment bottles. My daughters eyes lit up once she saw this beast coming her way! </div><div><br></div><img id="id_3c2_97f8_b575_2850" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCfO1lTE2fwsa4AKv3u5Vvnlp58mvj4_WZErg81KpzinZy2IiQyy_0kN-JFyURtq6JZ66lD6WvWoiQZDabuMOUMsqoXNF8R-ZU8egYk04YolAWFEjteatb98B4QWm0ESmVYv3R0zYhAM8/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 391px; height: auto;"><br><br><br><br><img id="id_9d92_bc09_cd68_8a5f" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg28-yKZjl-2cz7MXYjplJi7RkMoCo_CcZZlwpceigDuBLWEI7nI_7Gi-LGj3vR4ogSeJPVmjc37y9Ls2TpUCm-VPoOdaM5r4SuUuEKkhPLJBskJl6-1iJKNVwcN0g9NHo4nqsXCM9I6vc/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>Tilly baffled us with how much she managed to put away. She quite proudly patted her tummy after demolishing the freak of the week, leaving just a smattering of sweets, half a donut and a slurp of milkshake. Much to the disappointment of her dad, who was hoping he could finish up what she couldn’t! <div>Of course there’s much more on offer other than milkshakes. With staple brunch options, light lunches, homemade cakes- inc gluten free and vegan options- and specialty coffees, they had something for every taste. And for the mega fussy, how about a unicorn hot chocolate?!</div><div><br><img id="id_987e_69db_a32_54ee" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIN-Fuue4yBwHKSWpNX5pXiq0coALxsYXfEVhjHTMWyG8yHfxTO9kAyQXrx-phRbKphdaSl3Tws-PkpeDMTZjzpkubmvUtjr_r4GyfnqTfppn7diEwV2l1drjrm1iygI2PGYoTg64w4sQ/s5000/%255BUNSET%255D" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><div>I opted for the delicious Croque Madame.
