Floral Baseball dress ft Pink Clove

You know when you idly browse sites and something grabs your attention and no matter how much scrolling you do after, you find yourself going back to that one item? That's what happened with this dress. Constant revisiting it to have another look, asking myself 'Do I need it? How many ways could I wear it?' Well, let's be honest, it's a floral dress, how many ways can you really wear it? One. But it's that gorgeous I didn't care.

Pink Clove have really upped their game this year. Whether I'm browsingptheir home site or on Asos, I'm guaranteed to find something I want. Which for me, is a really big deal!

This button down dress is made from a stretchy jersey material. It's light enough to wear for warm weather but obviously could be layered over tights/leggings in the colder months. On me, the length is just ideal. I can bend right over without flashing the world my bum- no one needs to see that! I love the nod to a baseball style top, channelling Madonna in A League of Their Own and the tropical prints give it that little tiki/retro edge. Right up my street!

Cat is obvs not included but you can find the dress here x

Sorento at sunset with Want That Trend

I wasn't going to post about my time at this years Curve Fashion Festival as I attended for leisure over blogging purposes but if there's one thing I did want to share is that I finally laid my hands on the ultimate dress.

Want That Trend caters from sizes 16 to 32 (in selected sizes) and as soon as I saw this beauty hanging up, I knew I had to have it! I was extremely fortunate to be gifted this wonderful dress. I opted for a size 20, although it fit very well, I would recommend to size up.

The dress is stretchy and has plenty of boob room on the top. A little too much for me as I struggled to keep the wrap top from gaping as its cut very low. Nothing a cute pin or a vest underneath wouldn't fix though.
I love the full length sleeves and the dress length was just perfect on my 5'4 frame. I can't wait to wear this over the festive period. You can find this dress
here and many other gorgeous pieces at Want That Trend x

My OOTD; Blinded by the daisies

Just like Prince once sang 'Every day is a yellow day, I'm blinded by the daisies in your yard.'

Daisy sunglasses from Coachella range at H&M

Digging through my wardrobe, I felt I needed to brighten my day with something extra bright to wear. And what better colour than bright yellow! It had to be this gorgeous Boohoo.com Bardot frill dress, with its flouncy neckline and flowy jersey fabric. Although this is no longer available, there is a black version available here and in pink here. There are many other beautiful yellow pieces around at the moment. Whether it's a top, a dress or just a statement necklace, I'm just loving the sunshine shade.

Here's just few that I found that I love!

New Day, New Navabi Purchase

With the January sales in full swing, I decided to do a little online shopping. Almost giving up hope in finding something I liked or in my size, I came across the Navabi sale.
Although hearing about this plus size store previously, I had yet to have a really good look on what was on offer. I fell in love with so many beautiful items! Some were a little out of my budget but then in the sale section, I come across this little gem.

This faux leather and mesh dress is by Eloquii, another brand I liked. I love the simplicity of this dress but the fact that it still has a little edginess to it. With soft jersey material, I knew it was going to be comfortable. The main body of the dress is a faux leather material and as well as a mesh cut out to the back, it has a cheeky little mesh detail over the cleavage area, like a peephole. Ooh baby! Even the back gets some extra detail with a chunky zip that runs the length of the dress. I opted for the size 20 and it fit like a dream.

I chose to keep my outfit simple for a more casual day time look. I paired the dress with some thick tights and chunky boots from Missguided

Have you been lucky in the sales this year or has it been a flop? Sometimes it takes a little searching off the high street to find a great piece X

Dressing Down with Evans

Everywhere I look, all I seam to see is festival wear. Wether it's TV adverts, shop window displays, online stores etc.. And as much as I love a folkish festival look, in the summer I'm mostly slumming it in flip flops and pull on dresses.
When asked by the gorgeous babes at Evans to choose some pieces from their range, I wanted comfort. Something non slobbish or plain but just something I KNEW I was going to wear when the temperature starts to soar.

So I went for this blue stripe dress. Yes, it's a pull on dress, no fancy designs, no cute fabrics or seductive shapes. But the colour is everything! The fabric is super soft and comfortable and i love the little pocket. Not only is this my favourite colour but I also had the perfect colour coordinating Nike sliders to wear with it. It reminds me of a 70s deck chair and I'm so cool with that!

The dress can obviously be worn in a variety of ways, it's not all about the simplicity of flip flops. How about some cute heeled sandals and a statement necklace?

The dress can be found here over on the Evans website x

Oversized comfort in Jameela Jamil Dress with Simply Be

So just like last time, I waited with excitement, to feast my eyes on Jameela Jamil's newest collection with Simply Be. I loved the mix of her first designs. Beautiful tailoring, flowy jumpsuits and gorgeous dresses. I review one of the pieces here.
This years collection didn't fail to disappoint either. I instantly fell in love with the dresses. The Star print maxi is stunning! Without an occasion to wear it, I simply couldn't justify it so opted for the Oversized denim dress instead. It's love!

    Necklace H&M
    Boots Depop

The dress WAS oversized. I couldn't be happier. Yes, I'm aware that it's an oversized dress but sometimes, when it comes to plus sizes, it's not always the case. I chose my regular size, a 20, and it's spot on. The material is soft, slinky and thin but is the look and strength of denim.
The straps can be adjusted to 3 different lengths which was super handy as I closed it on its tightest fitting when wearing it alone and it showed none of my bra. Bonus!

It's such a wardrobe staple and I've already worn it like this, with no top, with a t shirt and trainers and with a long sleeve top and tights. It's so versatile and gives that much more for my money.

Have you checked out the new collection yet? X

Ladies Day with Lovedrobe

Earlier this month I was invited along to a Ladies Day hosted by fashion brand Lovedrobe.
Never one to turn down an invite, especially when it mentioned bubbles, I got myself on a coach to Manchester and joined my fellow blogger babes for a fun filled, girl sesh.

We had the chance to get our make up done but as I was facing a long journey home, I decided against it. The makeup artists did a fab job on the girls who did go for it though.

With the gorgeous Em of Terrible Tumbles

With a few glasses of Prosecco drunk, we soon got busy trying on clothes from a rail bursting with items from the new Spring/Summer collection and were fortunate enough to be able to choose an item to take home.

I went for this beautiful pink textured shift dress. Not a style I'd usually go for but the colour was definitely calling my name.

      Dress can be found here

How I wore it once home.

It was so nice to be in an intimate setting with a bunch of girls, all of which I knew beforehand, where we could just relax, gossip and hangout together.

Thank you so much to the Lovedrobe team for such a lovely day xx

Jameela Jamil collection with Simply Be

After hearing that the utterly stunning Jameela Jamil was collaborating with Simply Be, I couldn't be more excited. I have been a fan of her style for so long that I knew there would be a piece in the collection that I would fall in love with. I did and it was totally not what I would if usually gone for.
I went for the Ponte Midi Dress. Here

With a polka dot flock mesh upper, I knew it was mine straight away. It also has a mesh insert in to the skirt which I love. The fabric is thick and heavy but offers an amazing 'swish' as I walk.

The mesh has stretch and is so soft. It's longer than expected but I'm pretty short and I could of ordered a size smaller as it came up quite generous in its sizing.

I felt like a gothic dream. It's simply perfect for Halloween x

Stripe Up Your Life!

So as I've said many times before, I bloody love a good charity shop rummage. Digging deep in sale baskets, scouring through rail after rail and often finding nothing. But then there's times when you do find a little gem and this post is one of them.

This cute little shirt dress was a steal at £3.99 and fits like a dream. It's not vintage but I don't know the label so I'm guessing it's from a cheap high street store. I teamed it with tan accessories, ruby red lips and tights.

This tan woven belt and little saddle bag is an old season Primark and I usually only use it on holiday but thought it looked perfect with this outfit.

My shoes were an eBay bargain too. I sized up as from past experience I found that they run pretty narrow and small. They can be found here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WOMENS-LADIES-WALKING-LACE-BIKER-ANKLE-PUNK-ROCK-CLOG-SHOES-BOOTS-SIZE-3-8-/271326521626?var=570217591188&hash=item3f2c52291a

Engaging in an EBay find OOTD

You know those times when you're stupidly bored and you end up trawling various search terms on eBay? Well I recently stumbled across this little cream dress of dreams and put it in my 'watch list'. The next day I got an invite to an engagement party and just knew that the dress was a little sign that it was the perfect dress for that said occasion. Bonus!
I ended up winning the dress for less than £5 but unfortunately the labels had been cut out so I have no idea where it's from!

I'm not usually one for cream or white but so glad I took the chance as I love how it looked, even if my lily white skin is the same tone!
I just love the lace detailing on the neckline.

I teamed the dress with a cute pair of baby pink lace shoes with chunky heels.

The fluffy fold over clutch was handmade by me. I had spotted similar styles on various websites this year but knew that I could make such a simple style bag myself. It ended up costing me less than £3 in total.

Have you tried wearing a new colour this summer? Do light colours put you off? X

Tiki Queen in Voodoo Vixen

Summer holidays are in full swing in our house and with invites to barbecues and days out with family and friends, I couldn't think of a better excuse to buy a beautiful new dress. So I thought I would release my inner Tiki Queen and buy this tropical beauty by Voodoo Vixen from Simply Be here..

I went for the 2X which is a 20/22 but it was a little too big for me in the top. With elastic panels to each side, the dress allows for extra booby room, something I lack! The dress is made from a thick, smooth cotton and hung beautifully with and without a petticoat. It's nipped in at the waist, which sat in just the right place before flaring out in to a lovely full style skirt. It also has pockets, which is a rare feature but one I absolutely love.

             With an added petticoat
                 And without.

I added some cute handmade flower clips to my hair to set the look. X

Bonkers for Bardot pt2

So not content in having one glorious Bardot sleeve dress, I now have another!
Yet again, it was good old Asos Curve to take my money on my favourite dress I have bought this year. (Find it here)

What's not to love about this little beauty?!
In an acid wash effect jersey, it sits at my knee so no need for leggings/tights. It has a gorgeous embroidered trim to the hem and also features a hidden booby panel. (I'm guessing it has more of a technical name) Great it you fancy ditching the bra for the day, not so great if you are blessed with ample boobage that won't allow for such freedom!
I wore a super old Primark belt to cinche my waist in a little and gold sandals as featured in pt1 x

Bonkers for Bardot pt1

Until recently I had a bit of an issue with bearing my shoulders. Mine are broad, thick and covered in freckles and I really didn't like them in show. Now I think I was a bit of an idiot and love getting them out. So what if they are big and chunky! No different from any other part of me!
So today I'm wearing a recent purchase. This is a Bardot dress by New Look in the Asos Curve range. (Here)
I instantly fell in love with it tropical print and ive been waiting for just the right kind of day to wear it. Like today!

Paired with some new gold flats from Primark and a hair clip I made, I'm feeling cool and comfortable and a wee bit cute!

Voodoo Vixen Greta dress

Following on from my LondonEdge post, I thought I would do a separate post about the dress I was gifted by Voodoo Vixen.
We were given a small range of dresses to choose from but being the fussy lady I am, found that quite difficult. ( I am still so grateful!)
I didn't know how the dresses fit without trying them on first so decided to size up and hope for the best. I'm an 18-20 in most dresses so I went for the 3X
I went for the Greta as it was the simplest. I knew I could mix and match shoes, accessories and more importantly, lipsticks, whenever I wear it, to keep it looking different each time. As nice as the other dresses were, you couldn't really do that.
When we arrived at LondonEdge and were given our dresses, the first thing I noticed was the material. I really didn't like it. If, like me, you wore those black, super stretchy trousers to school, you'll know the material I'm talking about. I think I was expecting something softer and flowy, more in keeping with vintage styles. I was so glad that I sized up as the dress was a really great fit. Not just the dress but the belt too. When it comes to plus size dress/belt combos, that's rare! I would call it a satin ribbon with buckle. I found it more of a detail than a working accessory and took it off.
I love the little petal shaped cut outs and the length was just right on me. I'm not one for sleeveless dresses either so I wore a little cardigan to hide the tops of my arms.
The new collection features more styles and cute prints which is so refreshing to see for a plus size range. The Greta dress can be found here

Shopping the Sales in Boohoo

Feeling either brave or stupid or just a bit of both, I ventured to my local shopping centre for a spot of sale shopping.
Blog post to follow with what I bought so here's what I wore.

This is the Little Black Dress t shirt dress from the Boohoo Plus range, worn with a jacket from Boohoo that I have blogged about previously. This dress is just the comfiest thing. I feel like I'm wearing a nightshirt! Stretchy jersey, it's a go to piece whenever I lack enthusiasm to put together an outfit. Worn over Dorothy Perkins leggings and boots.

My Boxing Day OOTD

My posts have been on the thin side lately due to both lack of time and lack of enthusiasm. I love blogging, not just for expressing myself but for opportunities I've had, inspiration and meeting so many wonderful babes along the way. Today I woke up and actually wanted to blog, I haven't felt that for weeks!
So today, here is my Boxing Day outfit,

Yesterday, being Christmas Day and all, I found massively stressful. I have 3 kids, a husband and my mum to cook for and i put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself to achieve a high standard on the day, with little to no help. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. I think that's why I went with top to toe black today!

This gorgeous grid mesh dress is from Simply Be. I won a voucher for Simply Be at this years Plus North and this was what I used it for. It's amazingly comfy and fits like a glove. I kept it really simple with no added accessories as today was about visiting family yet still looking like I had made an effort without making much effort and being comfortable with it.
The boots were a Christmas gift and I'm unsure of the brand. The bag is an EBay find.

looking Grrrrreat on Date Night

Talking of said anniversary, I thought I would show you what I wore on our date night.

I first spotted this gorgeous tiger print dress by Cutie on Simply Be early last year but missed my chance to get it and was no longer being stocked. Then by chance, I came across a website called Crazy Clearance. Here they sell discontinued Simply Be stock at a fraction of the cost. Plus, you can still use your Simply Be account to pay. Bonus!!
The tights I'm wearing are the best I've found in a long time. From Asda, 80 denier Super Matte tights They don't fall down, are nice and long and super matte and fit in all the right places. What's not to like?! My biker jacket is F+F and chunky boots are Primark.

Lorraine Loves...

This week the new Lorraine Loves collection is launched on JDwilliams and I was lucky enough to choose an item from the collection.
Designed by Lorraine Kelly, the new ambassador for JDWilliams, the collection boasts a selection of pieces that are both in trend, plus size and affordable. When I first heard of the collection, I was unsure if there would be anything I would personally choose myself as it is aimed for the over 50's and was pleasantly surprised as there were some lovely items, including a gorgeous PU sleeved biker coat and a spotted wrap dress.
Right now I'm in to bold colours. The more in your face, the better. So I chose this wonderful cobalt blue body con dress by Joanna Hope.

I love how the waistband really draws my waist in and being a body con dress, there's always need of good shapewear, with this dress I went without any as it just sat so well.
I also really love the square neckline and the ribbed effect of the material.
