A Crochet Crush from Simply Be

It's been almost a month since I blogged about fashion! Feel like it's almost a record for me.
Well, now what perfect way to ease myself back in than showing off this absolute belter of a dress. Now, I'm going to be honest here; I deemed this dress as ugly. Channelling ultimate granny vibes, this dress looked like it belonged on the back of a couch. But putting it on, I clearly had to eat my words!

I usually steer away from tunic style dresses as they do nothing for my shape but this one clung to my curves just beautifully.
With 3/4 length sleeves and sitting at the perfect height on my knees, it was not overly hot to wear either. I will say though, this dress does not come with a slip and was pretty much see through so I wore chub shorts and a little vest underneath. But not forgetting, this would be a great dress to pop over your bikini too. Or how about pairing it with cute boots for the ultimate festival look?

You can find this beauty at Simply Be here.

My Relaxed OOTD

So with 2015 coming to a close and after a whole social media meltdown regarding a well known plus brand lastnight, I have spent the day with my family, doing the every day things. I decided to not reflect back on my year, not to focus on the year ahead and not get caught up with who said what and when.
I made the big mistake of going out on New Years Eve. The shops were packed and the weather was crap! But...I looked cute.

The wind and rain won, my hair did not last!

As I was going shopping, I needed comfort and casual. I always opt for jeans or leggings. These are old ones from Asda that I cut at the knee for a more distressed look. The long sleeve T shirt was from an EBay shop, it says 'Rydell High School' which is a nod to one of my favourite films Grease. I wore my Boohoo college style jacket to keep in with the retro preppy look.

This simple outfit consists of;

Jacket; Boohoo.com
Raglan sleeve top; eBay
Skinny jeans; Asda
Plimsolls; Everything5pounds

Tiki Queen in Voodoo Vixen

Summer holidays are in full swing in our house and with invites to barbecues and days out with family and friends, I couldn't think of a better excuse to buy a beautiful new dress. So I thought I would release my inner Tiki Queen and buy this tropical beauty by Voodoo Vixen from Simply Be here..

I went for the 2X which is a 20/22 but it was a little too big for me in the top. With elastic panels to each side, the dress allows for extra booby room, something I lack! The dress is made from a thick, smooth cotton and hung beautifully with and without a petticoat. It's nipped in at the waist, which sat in just the right place before flaring out in to a lovely full style skirt. It also has pockets, which is a rare feature but one I absolutely love.

             With an added petticoat
                 And without.

I added some cute handmade flower clips to my hair to set the look. X
