Stripe Up Your Life!

So as I've said many times before, I bloody love a good charity shop rummage. Digging deep in sale baskets, scouring through rail after rail and often finding nothing. But then there's times when you do find a little gem and this post is one of them.

This cute little shirt dress was a steal at £3.99 and fits like a dream. It's not vintage but I don't know the label so I'm guessing it's from a cheap high street store. I teamed it with tan accessories, ruby red lips and tights.

This tan woven belt and little saddle bag is an old season Primark and I usually only use it on holiday but thought it looked perfect with this outfit.

My shoes were an eBay bargain too. I sized up as from past experience I found that they run pretty narrow and small. They can be found here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WOMENS-LADIES-WALKING-LACE-BIKER-ANKLE-PUNK-ROCK-CLOG-SHOES-BOOTS-SIZE-3-8-/271326521626?var=570217591188&hash=item3f2c52291a

Engaging in an EBay find OOTD

You know those times when you're stupidly bored and you end up trawling various search terms on eBay? Well I recently stumbled across this little cream dress of dreams and put it in my 'watch list'. The next day I got an invite to an engagement party and just knew that the dress was a little sign that it was the perfect dress for that said occasion. Bonus!
I ended up winning the dress for less than £5 but unfortunately the labels had been cut out so I have no idea where it's from!

I'm not usually one for cream or white but so glad I took the chance as I love how it looked, even if my lily white skin is the same tone!
I just love the lace detailing on the neckline.

I teamed the dress with a cute pair of baby pink lace shoes with chunky heels.

The fluffy fold over clutch was handmade by me. I had spotted similar styles on various websites this year but knew that I could make such a simple style bag myself. It ended up costing me less than £3 in total.

Have you tried wearing a new colour this summer? Do light colours put you off? X

Bikini body? Why The Hell Not!

Being involved within the plus size community, I see so many positive messages about loving your body regardless of size and showing what you got, without giving two shits to what society thinks. I would and have been a little hypocritical if I didn't practise what I preach. I'm no way against my body, I'm responsible for how it looks, I try to dress it the best way I can and I often like what I see in the mirror.
Ever see the term 'bikini body' and think 'I wish I had one of those'? Well everybody has a body and anyone can buy a bikini. Simple.
After a whole year of having a bikini I found on EBay, sitting in my watch list, I bought it. Three weeks later, it arrived on my birthday. I went straight upstairs, got undressed and tried it on. And you know what? I have a bikini body!! Bikini+body=bikini body

My kids didn't laugh or make jokes (always a bonus!), I was just me, in a bikini and nothing happened. No end of the universe crap or my mirror blowing up. I twirled and jiggled my tassels to full effect and went online and bought it in a swimming costume too.
There's so much hate, bullying and body shaming these days. No one should shy away from wearing what they want, posting certain pictures online or God forbid, eating in public, in fear of being snarked. Yes it happens, and of course it's not nice but if you truly believe in you and your self worth, what does it really matter? You have one life and there's no time to put off such simple things you may regret. X

Round, Round Baby

The sun is out, the birds are singing and my hair is neon pink!
Lastnight, dye in hand, I was all set to become a fire red. Life isn't that sweet to me at times so blessed me with a head of 80s pink instead. It seems with every hair change I have, so does my attitude to style. Today my outfit needed some polka dots. You'll also noticed I've gone full on crazy (just because I'm fat apparently I should never be seen wearing a crop top and/or VBO 'Gasp!') but not crazy because they are just clothes and I have fat.

This textured crop top is from Dorothy Perkins, the midi skirt is Simply Be and the boots are an EBay find. Glasses from Primark x

My Boxing Day OOTD

My posts have been on the thin side lately due to both lack of time and lack of enthusiasm. I love blogging, not just for expressing myself but for opportunities I've had, inspiration and meeting so many wonderful babes along the way. Today I woke up and actually wanted to blog, I haven't felt that for weeks!
So today, here is my Boxing Day outfit,

Yesterday, being Christmas Day and all, I found massively stressful. I have 3 kids, a husband and my mum to cook for and i put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself to achieve a high standard on the day, with little to no help. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. I think that's why I went with top to toe black today!

This gorgeous grid mesh dress is from Simply Be. I won a voucher for Simply Be at this years Plus North and this was what I used it for. It's amazingly comfy and fits like a glove. I kept it really simple with no added accessories as today was about visiting family yet still looking like I had made an effort without making much effort and being comfortable with it.
The boots were a Christmas gift and I'm unsure of the brand. The bag is an EBay find.

Leather, Lace and Fur

The wonderful Katie G over on  http://www.toodalookatie.blogspot.com come up with a blog challenge to use lace, leather, faux fur incorporated in to 2 outfits. One being a casual daytime outfit and the second, an evening outfit using all or one of the chosen elements. I went with a faux leather skirt for the day time and lace for the evening. Normally, I would of chose them the other way round but seeing as I have yet to really jump on the leather wearing bandwagon, I would push my comfort zone and dress the leather skirt down. I think it totally worked and I love the outcome!

Skirt and T shirt and glasses; Primark
                         Platform plimsols; George@Asda

For the evening outfit, I chose my new lace dress that I found in the sale this week at Asda. I just love the colour.
